It's summer time and life is good. I can't even describe how much I love the summer time. The warmer weather, the garden growing, the sunshine, the heat, the summer nights on the front porch, the smell of the freshly cut hay (that is my total favorite). Just all of it. I feel so much happier and energized in the summer!! Life is good.
I guess I will write out a few updates.
Layton finished out the track season AMAZINGLY!
One of my favorite things that I want to document is from last month. May.7th to be exact. Layton was able to compete in the conference championships and it was one of the best days ever.
1st place with a 4:56 mile
1st place in the 800m
3rd place in the 400m
1st place in the 4x400m.
It was absolutely incredible for him to do so amazing. My proud mama heart just felt like it was going to burst at any given moment. Watching him run, watching everything come to fruition was just like a dream. I could re-live that day again and again.
He was so happy and proud of himself too. It was so great. The hours and hours and hours of dedication and hard work paid off. He's awesome.
Kasen- he's not been feeling well the last couple weeks. Not sure what is going on. He has just been struggling with not feeling well anytime he eats, it makes him feel sick and like he is going to throw up. He's not sooo sick that I think he needs to go to the doctor, but it's also been 2 weeks now, so I'm not really sure what to do. He's such a fun kid and growing up so much. He's been loving the gym, except the last two weeks where he's been sick.
Leah- finished up volleyball, and started 4H with our neighbors horse. Nicest thing ever that Windy is letting her use her horse and go to 4H every week with her. It's awesome.
Thomas- well he probably has the biggest and newest exciting news. He gave his 2 week notice (which they didn't really care about and told him very nicely he didn't need to come back) and he accepted a new position as the Operations/Store Manager at Cal Ranch. We are both very excited for this opportunity. The pay is way better, the benefits are better, they have 401k matching, the discount on product is going to save us a ton, their is growth opportunities. PTO is better and he is much much much more interested in this industry then where he was (concrete), so that is exciting for him. I think he is going to do a phenomenal job. It will be challenging and all the things for the first while I am sure, but I am so so incredibly proud of him and I'm so excited for him!
