"There is only one reason you are suffering you're focused on yourself. Self focus creates suffering because the nature of the human mind is to find what is wrong. We are all selfish at times but if you stay selfish you suffer. The fastest way out of suffering is appreciation. There is not a better way. You cannot suffer and appreciate. You cannot be grateful and suffer simultaneously. And the only way you can appreciate is to get outside of yourself and know notice the grace of your life somehow. Listen to me now, you want a different life right now? You want to transform your joy right now? Trade your expectations for appreciation and you have a whole new life"
I just came across this quote from Tony Robbins on instagram. He was speaking it.
I have felt such a negative spiral lately feeling so much scarcity, fear, anxiety.
So here I am. Focusing on appreciation
- I am so grateful that I get to work in a warm comfortable office
- I appreciate my ability to work out every day. I have a healthy and strong body that can work hard and feel good.
- I love that I get to see Layton make breakfast every morning and prepare his healthy meals. He is always running around with eggs, toast, yogurt, berries, vitamins. I love hearing his "Good morning Mom" with his happy attitude.
- I love when Kasen comes alive in the evenings and is joking and laughing and making fun of everyone. He rage baits like nobody's business and it's so funny. I love our long talks when he opens up and I can understand him and his thoughts and feelings better.
- I love waking up Leah in the morning. I love her sleepy voice. Her stretches. Her cozy blankets and giving her hugs and kisses. I love that she asks me to curl her hair in the mornings. I love when she wants to shower in my shower. I love her creativity. Her God quotes all over her walls and drawings. I love that she is so social and always wants to be involved with things.
- I love that I have Thomas. To be beside me always. I love that I get to hold his hand and "kiss him anytime I want". I love that he always has my back and wants supports me.
- I am so grateful for my beautiful home. My fireplace to keep me warm. My beautiful front porch with all my fall decor and pumpkins in the front. It is so beautiful. I love the aesthetic of my home.
- I am so glad that my car runs well. That I haven't had any issues with it so far. I am glad that I get to drive it to and from all of the place that I need to get to and that it gets me there safely and without issue.
- I am grateful for my calling and the relationships I have been able to build from it. I am grateful for the chance to lead and to do things my way. I am glad I get to go to meetings with others and talk about ways to be better. I am grateful for the chance to study for lessons better and learn more and become closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
- I am grateful
