Tender Mercies

This week I have been overwhelmed with many tender mercies that the Lord has given me and i just wanted to jot down a few so as I will never forget these blessings.

#1 On tuesday I received a 75$ gift card to Ross, with a message that said, "just for you to buy a few new clothes." Whoever gave it to me. You are amazing. I am so excited to go shopping, and get some new things. i would say about 90% of what i own, is either from highschool, or has been given to me, or from DI. (other than a couple skirts my mom bought for me). It will be fun to actually go buy something new. i can't get over the genorosity, thoughtfulness, and kindness of this person. thank you.

#2 Today, I just got a message from the Lost and Found and they said they have some scriptures that may belong to me...... ok you don't understand.... I lost my scriptures on campus way back when me and Thomas were dating. So about 2 1/2 years ago. I looked everywhere imaginable and never was able to find them. Just this morning I was thinking how I wanted to ask Thomas to get me a new set for christmas, as we have been sharing his set for the last.... 2 1/2 years and just yesterday I was telling him how much I missed my old scriptures and all the markings and thoughts I had throughout them (i had had them since i was 8) and I was wondering whatever happened to them. I hadn't really even thought about my lost scriptures for over a year or so i'm sure, and is it coincidence that I was just really missing them and wanting them back that i get this email? i think not. man our Heavenly Father is ever so mindful of us. I can't even believe it. So i got my old Book of Mormon back this afternoon.... I CANNOT BELIEVE it's it! i love it.

#3 The third tender mercy I received was that i was able to petition and qualify for financial aid..... this is also a huge deal, as i didn't qualify at first. So all of my tuition is now paid for. What a blessing!!! I only have four credits, but still I didn't know how we were going to get by having to fork out another 700$.

#4 I had to take Kasen in for a ''lysis of penile adhesion'' (he had scar tissue build up from his circumcision) surgery this morning. I had to be in Idaho Falls at 5:30am. So I had to get up at  4:15 am. Everything went well with his surgery, he has been sleeping for over two hours now, which doesn't happen often. I am just so grateful that everything went well and that he seems to be doing ok. can you believe he now has had his first surgery and anesthetic and he is only 1.? poor little guy.

These tender mercies have got me through this week, as it's been a hard one. Taking care of twins really is not easy. People say i never look or act stressed, but i am. haha. thomas is gone so much, that it gets busy and overwhelming doing it all by myself, all day everyday. anyway i shouldn't complain, there are plenty of mom's out there with lots of kids, busy schedules, and harding working husbands! I am just grateful that i do have my little rascals to take care of.

Everyday I think about how blessed I am. I am so grateful for a loving, understanding and mindful Heavenly Father who watches out for me and for my family. He always knows just what I need at any given time. Where much is given, much is required however, and I am grateful that I am capable to help and serve and lift those around me.

I love reading your blog. It does help to remind us of our blessings when we write them down and when we read other people's tender mercies. What a good week!

You are a strong woman of God, Kayla. Thank you for sharing your blessing with such a spirit of gratitude and acknowledging God's care and guidance in your life. Letting others know when you are struggling will enable them to pray more specifically for you and lift your real needs-of-the-moment up to God and/or help out practically.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. (Prov. 3:5)

You are doing an amazing job of raising your little boys! We know it is not easy; just keep taking it one step at a time. These days will soon be the past. Make good memories.

You will be grateful that you wrote these things down. And someday your kids will be able to read them and see for themselves (if they already didn't know it!) just how awesome you are. Counting our blessings sure makes the heart happy, doesn't it!
